Pintermission: Babyville Diaper Cover

Yes, yes. I know it's been a while since a Pintermission post. It's been...busy. Rest assured, I've actually been accomplishing quite a bit, just haven't had the time to blog about it :( This month, I bring to you a diaper cover!

I'm a DIYer at heart, so my lovely parents were pretty excited when they found the Babyville line at the craft store one day. They got me the book and one of the three-packs of PUL for Christmas while I was still pregnant...and I FINALLY got around to making a diaper cover!!

Happy (belated) July 4th! (Scovill Zoo)

Thanks to some super nice upper management where I work, I got a surprise day off today! Since the weather was nice, we took Booger to a small, local zoo to enjoy some family time.

Skinned knees and mommy tears

They grow up so fast. You hear it over and over again, and you have no choice but to believe it as you watch them change over night.

I'd stopped calling Booger "baby", and call him "little boy" now. I knew he was growing up. His features have thinned out considerably, he truly interacts with us, and he has strong opinions. Very strong. Too strong... I digress. My sweet Booger is growing up.

...And so are we. I know, I know. It's been nearly four months, but life got away from me! The boy is far more mobile now (as in almost running), so we've been in a mad scramble trying to child-proof more of the house so he has room to roam.

Happy Birthday, Booger!

The little man turned one Wednesday (what?!) and we had a little monster party with some friends this weekend.

I made a monster wreath for the door using strips of an old T-shirt tied around a wreath form. I left the eye up to Mr. Indulgent, so we ended up with the eye of Sauron from LOTR.

8 Things I Learned in My First Year as a Parent

It's hard to believe, but my little man is already one! I'm not exactly sure where the year went, but my baby doesn't look so much like a baby any more and I have a difficult time remembering the days when he wasn't into everything! In this past year my life has changed more than I ever imagined possible, so I did a little reflecting on what I've learned so far as a parent.

Birthday Love and Flowers... card form.

Finally, an excuse to get into something a little more intricate in card making (albeit, still pretty basic)!

A Pintermission: February Results

It's that time again! For Pintermission number four I have two projects: baking and crafting.

Booger is in the cruising stage and is into anything and everything. We have a bookcase in the living room (his play area) that was woefully unprepared for little hands...resulting in some destroyed music scores :(

Is it Spring yet?

Normally I am a winter-loving person. Since moving to Illinois, I spend much of the year looking forward to coats, scarves, sweaters, and SNOW! But this year (and last)? Bah! Winter seems to be becoming something of a myth in east-central Illinois as it rains more than it snows, and I can go without a coat more often than not, which leaves me day dreaming about the arrival of Spring!

And what does Spring mean? Starting the garden!

Cricuts and Birds

In the months leading up to Christmas, Mr. Indulgent asked over and over what I wanted, only to receive the dreaded "I don't know" each time...until I finally thought of something that would make my crafting life much easier.

"I want to be able to cut a perfect circle," was the wish of the year. And do you know what? That darling husband of mine came through by giving me a Cricut mini. I finally had time to make wonderful use of my new toy on a birthday card for a friend. I started small, fulfilling my "wish" exactly.
